The job of your fish

Your fish earn money in Steal Fish Eggs. Collecting through hatching, keeping useful results, and reinvesting income form the progression loop. Fish can also be stolen from other players, so your collection exists in a shared game space.

The fish hub lists four provisional public identity reports, but a full official species list and income table are still not verified. The practical comparison is between fish you can inspect in your current game.

Compare like with like

  • Read each fish's exact name.
  • Check size and mutation information separately.
  • Compare displayed income under the same active conditions.
  • Consider whether your goal is earnings, variety, or a particular collectible.
  • Read replacement or removal prompts before confirming.

Income goal or collection goal?

For an income goal, the relevant question is whether the new hatch improves what your collection earns. For a collection goal, a distinct size or mutation may matter even when it is not the best displayed earner.

Those goals can lead to different choices. Decide which one you are pursuing before spending time on a difficult egg route.

A simple collection log

Record fish name, visible traits, displayed earning rate, acquisition route, and date. Keep screenshots of the labels when possible. If an update changes a value, use the new display for decisions.

Do not attach a rare-fish ranking to a name alone. A useful ranking needs comparable observations and an explanation of what is being optimized.

Read the earning label before changing a fish

The September recording shows fish with earning labels marked per second, floating money amounts, and a rising cash display. It also shows a Sell Fish! interaction later in the video. Use those visible labels as a reason to inspect your own current earning and removal information before changing the collection.

The recorded values are not imported as permanent species stats. The visible selling entrance also does not establish a sale-price formula or every confirmation condition. Read the actual prompt and keep the fish's traits and earning information before deciding.

Choose a comparison that matches your goal

TargetRelevant evidenceDecision to make
IncomeCurrent displayed or measured earnings under the same active conditions.Does the new result improve the money available for your planned purchase?
VarietyA distinct fish name or a different visible size or mutation label.Does it add a trait you are collecting, even if income is lower?
ReplacementThe game's exact removal or replacement prompt and both fish records. What will be lost if you confirm, and is that trade useful for your goal?
RecoveryA dated record of the collection before and after an observed loss.Which manageable egg route can rebuild an earning baseline?

Evaluate the collection as a whole

A fish with a larger visible earning number is useful information, but your purchase budget depends on what the whole collection actually earns. Measure the balance over the same interval before and after a collection change, without making unrelated purchases during the observation.

For a hypothetical example, a collection gaining 600 money in 30 seconds has an observed rate of 20 per second. That rate belongs to that observation, not to every fish with a matching name. If a displayed fish value and the measured total disagree, keep both records and inspect any current collection prompts before publishing a rule.

QUICK ANSWERS

Questions about this step

Should I keep a lower-income fish with a new trait?

That can make sense for a collection goal. Decide whether the distinct trait or the next purchase matters more, and read any replacement consequence before confirming.

Does a fish name alone establish its value?

No. Record size, mutation, current earnings, and visible active conditions. A name-only list cannot explain whether two results are comparable.
